Innovative and person-centered, Rumi provides a platform connecting individuals eligible for a disability waiver with compatible roommates for a life-sharing living arrangement. Please note that Rumi is currently available only for residents of Minnesota, with plans for expansion to other states in the near future.

How It Works

1. Complete your Rumi Profile: Interested in finding a roommate? Fill out your Rumi profile where you can share information about yourself, your interests, areas where you need assistance or can offer help, and other relevant details.
2. Verification: Ensuring your safety and comfort is our primary concern. We conduct verifications on all profiles to verify identities and run preliminary background checks.
3. Let the Search Begin: Once your profile is approved, you can view other users' profiles. If you find a potential match, you can express interest by sending a "wave." A wave indicates your desire to start a conversation. Mutual interest allows both parties to view each other's complete profiles and initiate discussions. Not the right fit? Continue browsing.
4. Start Your New Life: Upon finding an ideal match, we will assist you in finalizing your new living arrangement. Additionally, we facilitate agreements between roommates, Rumi, and case management.

• Rumi Supports the Greater Community: Beyond fostering impactful relationships, Rumi demonstrates responsible stewardship of public resources. It not only generates well-compensated employment opportunities but also presents a cost-effective alternative to conventional care setups for individuals with disabilities while maintaining and elevating the quality of care provided.
